Now this was really cool last night I was at the Four Seasons Aviara for the Top Chef Hess competition. This was a event put on for a corporate company. The group was divided into 7 teams of 6 and they had 8 minutes to prepare their dish at the assigned table. They had a mixed drink table, sushi table, senses table (they had to guess blindfoled what was in front of them), omlette table, wine table, coldstone table, and cupcake table. It was alot of fun the group had a good time with it. Once they were done with the competition they continued in the adjacent room for dinner. This was not a dancing event just some great background sounds and MC skills. It was alot of fun I look forward to the next one!

I’ve been quite busy and slowed down from blogging. Well here we go for the first blog of 08″
Last month I played the 24 hourfitness annual event at the La Costa Resort. It was alot of the corporate side. They had some speakers and video presentations throughout the evening. I did rear screen projection for them and played a separate sound system to accomodate the cocktail hour. I had a pretty solid dance floor for the evening.
I did alot of appointments for upcoming weddings that stretched into the month of February.
The elementary school that my son will start at this Fall in Scripps Ranch had contacted me to their Father/Daughter dance. I just played it last friday night. They had alot of fun and the Dad’s seemed to enjoy it too.

November 4th, 2007 I played the Jessica and Brian wedding reception. This was the first time in the Arbor Terrace. What a beautiful location. I worked with Sadhana for the first time and she was great! This was a elegant reception with a great soundtrack. Once the dancing started it was a West Coast Rap Party. The groom was big into Jay z, BIG, Snoop, and Kanye. We had a pretty good dance crowd througout the whole evening. I’ll keep you posted when I receive their survey.

November 3rd, 2007 I played for the Stephanie and David wedding reception. WOW! This was an awesome time they had 80z AllStars Band play 2 45 minute sets and I filled in the blanks. ( I remember seeing them play at Disneyland, it was cool to meet them). It was great to work with Mary and her staff again, I actually remember seeing a staff member on the dance floor. Also congrats to Mary for celebrating her 20th year with the Catamarran!
I also did video projection which turned out very well. I’ll keep you posted when I get the survey from them. This one ranks up there with one of the most memorable wedding receptions I have ever done!Check out their album here courtesy Mark Lenoce .

Friday October 26th, 2007 I was at the Admiral Baker Clubhouse as usual worked with Annie and her staff. This was for Bernie and Mireya’s wedding reception. They had about 120 people I started out the evening with some great spanish guitar music. I got a few compliments on how appropiate the music was for cocktail hour. We then did the grand intro once the bridal party arrived it was very high energy and I knew I was in for a wild and fun evening! The reception seemed to fly by rather quickly since the whole evening the dance floor was packed. Those Latinos sure do know how to party!

I went and played music for the fire victims at the Del Mar Fairgrounds last night. We were evacuated on monday afternoon and was able to return home to Srcipps Ranch yesterday afternoon. I heard about the Qualcomm evacuation site having bands trying to keep the worst off people’s minds. I then decided to do the same for the evacuees at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. I arrived at 5:30 and was able to start playing right at 6pm. I stayed for a few hours and people started coming out of the shelter to request songs and saw some smiles on people’s faces. That made it all worth it during a time like this. Had shared some great conversations with many strangers and it helped once they knew I was evacuated too coming from Scripps Ranch. Although there was no dancing It was great ambiance and the volunteers seemed to enjoy the music saying it made time pass by quicker. I’m glad I was able to help out with lifting some people’s spirits!

Well we had evacuated our Scripps Ranch Home today at 3pm. It really has not yet sunk in that we could lose our home. We are currently staying at Jen’s Moms house in the North West end of Mira Mesa, hopefully we will not have to vacate this area. Everyone is safe it is just a sit and watch game with mothernature right now. I did manage to load most of my equipment in my car. I do have a couple of events this weekend. So at least my clients will not be without me . I know for sure Friday’s event is a wedding reception that will take place at thae Admiral Baker Clubhouse which should have no effect with the fire condition. Saturday’s event is a private Halloween Party up in Vista off the 15. This one has me a little worried because of the location and with the fires without any containment. It makes me wonder if it will happen. I’ll know more in a few days I guess. It was a liitle hard to swallow once I closed the door and walked away from my house and got into my car to drive away. I’ll keep you posted once I get more info.

“This is what Jodi had to say about her wedding reception”.
I had sooo much fun. You were awsome. In fact alot of people had gone to a wedding the weekend before, and then the day before. Everyone is saying how much better ours was. The main reason being that they say you were the best MC. And how great you were at moving everything along. And the things you came up with. I loved loved loved it!!!!! One of my friends is getting married next year and wants to use you. Thank you again! I should of gotten some cards from you so I could hand them out!!! And your kids are adorable!!! Thank you again for the trance, and the intro =) that SOO made our wedding.

Ahhh I forgot to add in my comments how fantastic and easy the website was! That truly helped ALOT!

Sunday October 14th I played a day wedding for James and Jodi at the Bali Hai. I did their ceremony music outside in the garden area which turned out very nice. Then we continued into the reception and continued cocktail hour and all the formalities. We then followed up with a little dancing. It’s hard to get people in the mood when the sun is still out. James and Jodi really liked the music I played they were into techno, rave music. I decided to announce them into the reception to Benny Banassi’s “satisfaction”. They told me that I rocked so I guess they liked it.

Just played Teddy and Ali’s wedding reception saturday October 13th,2007. Working with Emily at the venue was great! She briefed me on the rules for the venue since they are located in a residential neighborhood. I had adhered to them and we had a smooth night. It was also the first time working with California Cuisine. Dominic and his staff were great, they turned the venue into something spectacular with the decor and friendly staff. We had some great dancing moments throughout the evening and the formal introductions were something to talk about with all of Ali’s flowergirls being announced in. So cute they were!
